About Us

From Kevin Kearsey, President of Expac

I started my packaging career 32 years ago as a salesman with a plastic bottle manufacturer called Imco Container Company, which is now known as Graham Packaging. In those days, there was real training. I spent a day in each department of the plant to learn packaging “hands on” from the ground up.

The departments included customer service, packing, decorating, quality control, scheduling, production, engineering, mold making, and finally, plant management. I am a firm believer that if you do not train in each department, you can’t see the big picture.
I chose sales because I really like to help people. Along the way, I was Eastern Regional Sales Manager and then General Manager of a bottle plant for Aim Packaging. Having run a manufacturing plant really helps me now that I run Expac and deal with manufacturing plants daily. They give me more respect and cooperation, as they know I understand what is going on as I have walked more than a mile in their shoes.

After Aim, I joined American National Can’s tube and bottle division, which is now called Cebal, and became very knowledgeable in plastic and laminate tubes. Swisspack then recruited me to start their new high tech plastic and laminate tube company. I was National Sales and Marketing Manager and helped to set up each department from scratch. We were very successful and American National Can bought us out after four years. Swisspack became their Lincoln Park, New Jersey plant for many years.

At that point in time, a handful of customers asked me to handle their packaging needs. That led me to start Tube Tech Corporation, which specialized in sales of tubes. We represented all the tube companies in North America and became a major factor in the successful launch of Seda Tube. CCL then acquired Seda’s operation.

Tube Tech continued and expanded into all areas of packaging, which led us to change our name to Expac Corporation. Our name stands for Excellence in Packaging. I use my packaging background to help fill a void that exists in the marketplace. There is a real need for a packaging distributor that is helpful, and is committed to providing customers with a better Total Value Package.
